[…] Life and sex captured in her photographs are revealing their existence very candidly, but also poignantly and graphically. […]
Keiko Nomura, Japanese photographer
This wonderful book by the Chinese artist Xia Boqian displays intimate portraits and delicate frames from several projects.
All spinning around the mental issues and the unsharable secrets, the photographer captured almost always improvised stages and seize the truth of an imperfect world in pictures where the freedom exults for a short time in the visual poetry of love, water, flowers and bodies.
The emotions frozen in time by this book are much more valuables as during the preparation of it, a lot of the archives where irremediably lost, leaving us in doubt about using old scans or previous internet sharing. But it was the story of the book itself: a compilation of imperfect things and moments, that cannot be repeated, so we kept going forward. …And here is the wonderful result.
