We offered the Chinese artist 9mouth 九口走召 the opportunity to publish his first book.
The project chosen was already on the front line of the artist, who gathered a massive amount of materials, and even a dummy book was available at our first meeting.
The project is an assemblage of intimate portraits, tickets and receipts all printed on thermal paper. The book is a snapshot of one moment in the life of these documents. Some still contrasted and others faded at the point break of visibility.
The demonstration of the fade of emotional moments relates to the passing of time taking everything under his wings. The metaphor is not only a message but also a nice collection of pictures of women, reminding the work of the former Araki‘s assistant Sakiko Nomura but abrade with the graphic pattern of the dots resulting of the thermal printing.
