It’s a great pleasure to announce that our collaboration with the Finnish artist Maija Tammi has been successful. The book is on print!
“The disease alluded to by the series, White Rabbit Fever, is not an actual disease, but rather, an archetype representing the condition of being ill with a disease, assaulting our concept of time, as we count down the minutes until death. White Rabbit Fever is not about a specific rabbit, or Henrietta Lacks as a person, but about time in relation to life and death.”
Maija Tammi
How would time feel without death?
A complement to the White Rabbit Fever exhibition touring the world in Rome, Helsinki, Amsterdam,…
This book show a more complete and comprehensive part of the work by Maija Tammi, developed for the White Rabbit Fever project she started in 2016.
The book co-designed by Maija Tammi and the designer Jesper Vuori show us the fate of time at different scales, different point of views and various locations. Decay and growth, cells shown multiplying like in a flip-book, different juxtapositions about the lightness of life and the weight of death, or maybe the opposite, on a visual narrative sequenced by Klaus Pichler, helped by texts from Katherine Oktober Matthews.
The book includes an appendix “Immortals”, an article (translated in English and Japanese) originally published in Finnish in Suomen Kuvalethi in 2016.
This second book of Maija Tammi is also part of her practice-based doctoral dissertation at Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
The book is on press now, and we’re happy to offer, for a limited time, a special price with 20% off for pre-orders.
